  83. Why would I want to use the ‘one-up’ templates?

The one-up template will help guide you to create your design within the context of the dimensions of the final die-cut product. The work area or ‘panel’ shown conforms to the pre-cut labels or cards to be used on the AveryPRO sheet that will be printed. The panel provides the following helpful features: an interior ‘safe area’ defined by the innermost line. Restricting your design elements to this safe area will assure that content falls within the pre-cut area of the label. A solid black outline indicates the ‘trim line’ of the pre-cut label or card. The area that extends beyond the ‘trim line’ and is bound by the red outline indicates a ‘bleed area’. These demarcations are provided to help give the designer the best visual indicators to assure their design will print correctly.

  84. Back to top
  85. Why would I want to use the ‘full-sheet’ templates?

The full-sheet template provides guidelines indicating the layout of the panels on the sheet. Depending on your job, you may wish to do your design in the context of seeing where and how each label or card is positioned on the full-sheet. If you're creating designs that vary across the different labels or cards on the sheet, then having the full-sheet view will be helpful.

  86. Back to top
  87. What’s the best way to replicate my design across all the labels on the sheet in Illustrator?

For Illustrator, if your intention is to create a design which will be replicated across all the panels on the sheet, and to deliver that full-sheet of designs to the printer, we recommend that you try the AveryPRO AI Extension, which is described below. The ‘Step and Repeat’ function of the AveryPRO Extension will make this task much easier!

  88. Back to top
  89. How do I use the InDesign template?

For InDesign, we have provided instructions within the template to guide you regarding the x and y coordinates of the labels on the page and how to best set up the Step and Repeat measurements. Because the AveryPRO sheet represents two grids of labels, you will need to place your content within the top left ‘panel’ of each of the two grids. Step and Repeat will then replicate that content correctly across each grid.

  90. Back to top
  91. Why would I want to use the Adobe Extension?

The AveryPRO Extension provides several advantages including: access to all AveryPRO product templates in one place; automatic creation of a one-up template for the selected product type; and a ‘step and repeat’ function that generates a new AI or ID file imposing your design to the full sheet with the most accurate layout measurements possible. The Adobe Extension is available on this site or directly from the Adobe Creative Cloud for either Illustrator or InDesign.

  92. Back to top
  93. How do I get the Adobe Extension for AveryPRO?
